About Daniel

I am a Registered Psychotherapist working with both teenagers and adults. My areas of focus include anxiety, developing emotion regulation skills, identity exploration, managing family and romantic relationships, and reevaluating the use of substances. I aim to strike a balance between finding effective strategies for symptom relief in the short term while working towards a greater understanding of self in the long term. In my experience, the more I follow my curiosity about my client’s lives, the more we can uncover together. I have always considered it an honour that others would choose to share aspects of themselves with me and would be happy to have the chance to collaborate with you.

Although I often begin with a cognitive behavioural framework, my approaches to counselling draw from Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing as well. I strive to be flexible and creative in finding what works best for you. My past experience includes several years working with 2SLGBTQ+ youth and families, treatment for problem gambling, and supporting residential treatment services.

I completed a Master of Education in Counselling and Psychotherapy at OISE (University of Toronto) and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Evolutionary Biology at Harvard College. I am a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP).

Cancellation Policy

When you book a session, your clinician reserves their time for you. In the event that you will be unable to keep an appointment, please notify your clinician at least 24 hours in advance, so that someone else may utilize the time. Similarly, when your clinician is unable to keep the appointment with you, they will give you more than a 24-hour notice and rebook to another date and time.

In the case whereby you are unable to provide 24-hour cancellation notice (e.g., you cancel an appointment on the day of the appointment [i.e., the same day] or do not show up for a scheduled appointment), unless for emergency reasons (e.g., medical or family emergencies), you will be charged the fee for your session and payment will be required at your next scheduled session.

Note: Employee Assistance Programs and other insurance-based programs will not reimburse you, the client, for missed appointment costs.
