About Mitchell

Having completed a Bachelor of Social Work from Western University in 2014 and a Master of Social Work in 2022, I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OSWSSW #824677) and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).

As a queer identified man, it is important for me to connect with and serve my community in a meaningful way. Over the past 4 years, I have worked in the field of addiction and related counselling providing individual and group-based counselling services tailored toward LGBTQ2S+ folks, concurrent disorders, and trauma.

Practicing from a client-centered perspective, I utilize therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD, Narrative Therapy, Solution-focused therapy, and Motivational Interviewing practices for change. My clinical experience has been primarily directed toward folks aged 20-75 with presenting issues relating to Gender / Sexuality- related issues, Issues related to masculinity, Men who have sex with men (MSM) that engage in Chemsex / Party and Play (PnP), PTSD / Trauma, and Substance use disorder / Addiction.

Secondary Assessments for Transition-Related Surgery (TRS)

Secondary Assessments for Transition-Related Surgery (TRS) require an initial 80-minute consultation session and 80-minutes for writing the report. If Mitchell identifies only one 80-minute consultation as necessary in order to complete the report, a payment of $260 will be required at the end of the initial 80-minute consultation session and he will produce the secondary assessment report within 2 weeks following the initial 80-minute consultation session. Payment can be made through cash, credit card, debit, or eTransfer.

If Mitchell identifies further sessions are necessary and you agree to meet for those sessions, an additional $95 will be added for every 50-minute session to the base amount of $250. If you decide to postpone further appointments, you will only be required to pay $135 at the conclusion of the initial consultation session understanding that Mitchell will not create any secondary assessment report until future appointments are scheduled and the full fee is paid.

Note: If you have extended health benefits, you will be able to submit the receipt for this service to your provider for reimbursement if you are covered for psychological services.

Cancellation Policy

When you book a session, your clinician reserves their time for you. In the event that you will be unable to keep an appointment, please notify your clinician at least 24 hours in advance, so that someone else may utilize the time. Similarly, when your clinician is unable to keep the appointment with you, they will give you more than a 24-hour notice and rebook to another date and time.

In the case whereby you are unable to provide 24-hour cancellation notice (e.g., you cancel an appointment on the day of the appointment [i.e., the same day] or do not show up for a scheduled appointment), unless for emergency reasons (e.g., medical or family emergencies), you will be charged the fee for your session and payment will be required at your next scheduled session.

Note: Employee Assistance Programs and other insurance-based programs will not reimburse you, the client, for missed appointment costs.
