About Spencer

Working with clients aged 13+ who have presenting concerns related to anxiety and depression, gender and sexuality-related issues, grief and loss, psychedelic integration, substance use addiction and disorders, in addition to trauma / PTSD / cPTSD, I also welcome the opportunity to work with concerns outside of these areas. Should you be interested in working with me, you are welcome to get in touch to arrange a 10-15-minute phone consultation to assess our fit.

I strive to create an environment that is open, non-judgmental, and directed by the best interest of client’s in my care, as you are the expert of your own experience. As a queer and genderfluid person, I enjoy supporting clients who are exploring their gender identity. In support of your needs, I utilize a collaborative, person-centered, and trauma-informed approach with a variety of methods such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Somatic Therapy. All of this to say that I use a variety of evidence-based therapeutic methods while drawing from different techniques based on what feels right for you. Through our work together, we will strive to identify thought patterns and belief systems that impact how you view yourself in pursuit of cultivating a deeper connection and understanding of yourself!

I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with Honours Specialization from Western University (2021) and a Master of Social Work (MSW) with specialization in Health and Mental Health from the University of Toronto (2024). I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW #858302) and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW #27384). I have worked with a number of research teams investigating psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy for mental health over the years. If you are navigating and integrating the aftermath of a mystical or psychedelic experience, this is a specialty of mine.

Cancellation Policy

When you book a session, your clinician reserves their time for you. In the event that you will be unable to keep an appointment, please notify your clinician at least 24 hours in advance, so that someone else may utilize the time. Similarly, when your clinician is unable to keep the appointment with you, they will give you more than a 24-hour notice and rebook to another date and time.

In the case whereby you are unable to provide 24-hour cancellation notice (e.g., you cancel an appointment on the day of the appointment [i.e., the same day] or do not show up for a scheduled appointment), unless for emergency reasons (e.g., medical or family emergencies), you will be charged the fee for your session and payment will be required at your next scheduled session.

Note: Employee Assistance Programs and other insurance-based programs will not reimburse you, the client, for missed appointment costs.
