About Spencer

Something has shifted. Maybe it happened suddenly, or maybe it crept in slowly — but the world feels different now. You feel different. The person you were before seems harder to reach, and the strategies that used to work just aren’t cutting it anymore. The anxiety, the heaviness, the ways you’ve been coping — it’s starting to feel like too much to carry alone. I know something about that feeling. I also know that the way through it is rarely something you figure out on your own. You can find your way back to yourself through connection and the honest, shared work of therapy.

As a half-Chinese, pansexual, and genderfluid therapist, I bring lived experience and understanding of the systemic and social factors that can impact people with marginalized identities. I understand just how difficult it can be to be yourself when one is constantly met with microaggressions or stereotyped for their identity. This is why I am so passionate about creating a therapeutic environment that is safe, non-judgmental, and guided by your unique needs – recognizing you as the expert of your own experience.

In our work together, we’ll move at your pace. Using Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, we’ll explore the experiences and patterns that are holding you back — not to dwell in them, but to loosen their grip. With the help of therapy, many people gradually begin to feel a renewed sense of connection to themselves: more compassion, more curiosity, more capacity. Apart from these methods, I also utilize Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 1) with couples and polycules.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Honours Specialization in Psychology) from Western University (2021), and a Master of Social Work with a specialization in Health and Mental Health from the University of Toronto (2024). I’m a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW #858302) and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW #27384).

Over the years I have worked in several settings that supported various populations including Sunnybrook Hospital, Hatts Off Inc. (group home setting), Westover Treatment Centre, and LGBTQQ2S+ Support Services. I also have a background in research related to psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. If you are navigating the integration of a mystical or psychedelic experience, this is an area of specialization I would be glad to support you in.

Cancellation Policy

When you book a session, your clinician reserves their time for you. In the event that you will be unable to keep an appointment, please notify your clinician at least 24 hours in advance, so that someone else may utilize the time. Similarly, when your clinician is unable to keep the appointment with you, they will give you more than a 24-hour notice and rebook to another date and time.

In the case whereby you are unable to provide 24-hour cancellation notice (e.g., you cancel an appointment on the day of the appointment [i.e., the same day] or do not show up for a scheduled appointment), unless for emergency reasons (e.g., medical or family emergencies), you will be charged the fee for your session and payment will be required at your next scheduled session.

Note: Employee Assistance Programs and other insurance-based programs will not reimburse you, the client, for missed appointment costs.
