Mindful of the ongoing impact and influence of COVID-19, clinicians are offering a variety of meeting options (i.e., some continue to only offer online sessions through our client management system [Owl] and telephone sessions while some offer a mix of in-person, online, and telephone sessions.

If you would like to access in-person sessions, email your clinician and let them know. In-person sessions are only available to individuals who are at low-risk for exposure to COVID-19, are not presenting with COVID-19 symptoms, and have not had recent exposure to someone with COVID-19. Patients who attend in-person sessions are required to consult with their clinician about facemask preferences.

If you have any questions, please contact your clinician or the Clinic Director, Adam Terpstra, at [email protected]. Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding.

Your First Session

Your first session can take anywhere between 50 - 80 minutes. During this session, you and your clinician will discuss your presenting concerns (i.e., why have you reached out for counselling services), your background (e.g., family, medical, social, etc.), gain a general understanding of what you seek from counselling, and identify how our services might support your process. You and your clinician will decide on how frequently you will meet (e.g., once or twice a week at 50 or 80 minutes), which can change as necessary.

Interested in scheduling your intake session? Scroll down to view our clinician's biographies and click on a portrait to be redirected to the clinician's biography. Those clinicians who are accepting new patients have a colourized headshot and a notice beneath their photo in noting "Accepting New Patients". Click here for tips to help you choose the right therapist for you.

Once you have identified an available clinician you would like to work with, click “Book a Session” and you will be redirected to our online scheduling system (https://aws-portal.owlpractice.ca/cwcp/booking) and follow the prompts. Once you register your appointment through our online scheduling system, you will receive an automated email asking you to select a link to verify your email address. Please check your spam / promotions folder for this automated email.

Service fees are covered by extended health programs if you are covered for psychotherapy, psychology, or social work (MSW / RSW). Please review your extended health policy to identify if you have coverage for a psychotherapist, psychologist, or social worker (RSW/MSW) and speak with your clinician about this during your first appointment.

Please note that we are not a crisis service. If you are in crisis or in need of immediate attention, contact your local emergency call centre (911) or Crisis Services Canada:
