About Nicole McKinnon
Having graduated in 2018 from University of Victoria with a bachelor degree in Child and Youth Care and in 2021 from Yorkville University with a master of arts in Counselling Psychology, I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and a Registered Early Childhood Educator in Manitoba and British Columbia.
I have been a frontline worker with children, families, and youth throughout Canada since 2014 and have worked with a diverse client population. This experience has afforded me extensive training and understanding of issues related to childhood trauma, military community, and at-risk youth.
In my clinical work, I am passionate about providing an empathetic, non-judgmental, and supportive space for clients to develop a deeper understanding of themselves. Practicing from a person-centred approach, my primary therapeutic modalities include Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and strengths-based approaches.
