What is Self-Harm?
Self-harm refers to intentionally causing injury to oneself, often as a way to manage intense emotions, feel a sense of control, or express internal pain. It’s more common than many realize, and it’s not about “attention-seeking”. It’s about needing relief.
Self-harm can take many forms including:
-
Cutting, burning, or hitting oneself
-
Interfering with wound healing
-
Hair-pulling or scratching
-
Substance misuse or risky behavior
How We Can Help
Our approach is compassionate and personalized -- focused on understanding the underlying emotions behind these actions.
We will work collaboratively with you to build healthier coping strategies, develop self-compassion and emotional regulation skills, explore the root causes of emotional pain, process trauma or shame, and strengthen your support system.
We tailor our support based on your needs, and we meet you where you are in your journey.
