About Volha

I completed a Bachelor of Psychology from the Belarusian State University in 2004 and a Bachelor of Clinical Psychology from the joint program of the Belarusian State University and Lateran University (Pisa, Italy) in 2004. I received my certification as a Gestalt Therapist from the Moscow Gestalt Institute in 2004 and again from the Gestalt Institute of Toronto in 2016. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) and a member of the Canadian Association for Psychodynamic Therapy (CAPT).

From 2004 to 2008 I worked in private practice as a psychotherapist in Minsk, Belarus, and have been working as a counsellor in Toronto since 2013. I work with adults from a Gestalt therapy perspective on a range of issues, such as anxiety and depression, psychosomatic and eating disorders, grief and loss, relationship issues including LGBTQQ2S+, career challenges and self-esteem. I am also a part of the Survivor of Suicide Loss program at the Distress Centres of Toronto working with people who have lost loved ones to suicide.

My professional focus has been directed toward supporting clients (i.e., individuals and couples) as they establish the balance and strength in difficult situations in pursuit of broadening their available choices during moments of crisis and everyday life. One way I support clients in the achievement of this goal is to explore feelings, sensations, thoughts and ways of relating that might currently be outside of their awareness, and that contribute to the difficulties they currently face.

Cancellation Policy

When you book a session, your clinician reserves their time for you. In the event that you will be unable to keep an appointment, please notify your clinician at least 24 hours in advance, so that someone else may utilize the time. Similarly, when your clinician is unable to keep the appointment with you, they will give you more than a 24-hour notice and rebook to another date and time.

In the case whereby you are unable to provide 24-hour cancellation notice (e.g., you cancel an appointment on the day of the appointment [i.e., the same day] or do not show up for a scheduled appointment), unless for emergency reasons (e.g., medical or family emergencies), you will be charged the fee for your session and payment will be required at your next scheduled session.

Note: Employee Assistance Programs and other insurance-based programs will not reimburse you, the client, for missed appointment costs.
